Actually, Naish reads all his mail
May 11th, 2007
Dr. Piazza,
First, I understand that this email may not go directly to you, so to whomever may read this,
My name is Alex… I have no particular reason to be responding to this, as I am not in law enforcement (yet), I am not in the military. Hell, for the most part, I don’t even pay much attention to what goes on outside of my immediate surroundings, but when I first saw the Front Sight Challenge on VS., I was hooked. Little did I know that there would be a time that I would be contacting the sponsor of that show to tell them how impressed I was with their program and business WITHOUT EVEN HAVING ATTENDED A SINGLE CLASS.
I was impressed so after hearing from the newsletter about the scholarships being given to the survivors of Professor Librescu’s class after he had given his own life to protect theirs. Upon reading the newsletter, I could not help but shed tears for several reasons, primarily for the heroism of the Professor, but also for the Institute’s charity in such trying times, to prepare these students for the possibilities that they may face in the future, so that Professor Librescu’s last wish, that his students survived, not go unhonored.
Words truly cannot describe how this act on a business’s part toward those in need made me feel, especially as a citizen that has rarely seen generosity of this caliber from even individuals, much less an entity that is usually supposed to make money. My hat is off to you, Dr. Piazza, as I have seen the results of a successful business in a field designed to help people prevent their own victimization, but also because of the outstanding philanthropy you have shown, you have proven to be not just the head of a faceless, heartless profit organization, but truly a success in every aspect of the business world.
Thank you for your time,
Alex
Note: All the mail I get, I read. People don’t believe it, but it’s true. In fact, when you get a response from me, I wrote it myself. I want to hear from you, and I love to know what you think in response to what I say. All of these reports, all of my emails and newsletters are for nothing if they don’t provoke a response. I am always glad to receive it. – Naish
