Finally, A Public School District Gets It Right!

August 18th, 2008

The day after Columbine, I was the first to demand that school teachers be armed and trained. I backed up my demand by offering to train up to three school teachers from every school in America if their respective school districts would designate three of their teachers as School Safety Monitors and allow them to carry a concealed handgun as the first line of defense against school attacks.

Here is the original story that appeared about my offer in WorldNetDaily and numerous other main stream media sources.

In every public school there were teachers – some with previous military backgrounds – that wanted the training and opportunity to protect their schools from attack, but it seemed that every public school district had some hand-wringing administrators that thought the idea was insane.

Well, as history has proved, the school shootings did not stop, because any time you disarm the law-abiding you create a defenseless victim for criminals to prey on. And with every shooting that followed, I would again demand that teachers be armed, and offer to do my part to help make it happen.

Interestingly, with each subsequent school shooting, my idea to arm and train teachers didn’t seem quite so crazy. As people started to understand that the only way to prevent innocent, defenseless students from being slaughtered was to arm those trusted to protect them, even lawmakers in Minnesota and Nevada introduced legislation to arm teachers. Unfortunately, these proactive legislative efforts failed to pass.

Along the way, private schools that were not encumbered by the bureaucracy that plagues the public school system took advantage of my offer to arm and train their administrators and teachers.

Well I’m pleased to report that one public school district in Texas has now stepped up to allow their teachers to carry a concealed weapon on schools grounds.

Read the story and then contact the Harrold School District in Willbarger County, Texas to tell them that Front Sight will provide a free Four Day Defensive Handgun Course for EVERY teacher in the district who agrees to carry a concealed weapon to protect their students against violent attack.

Read about the news story:

I’ll train all the teachers and administrators from the Harrold School District free of charge to thank them for leading the way for other school districts to follow.

And if you do not yet have a Concealed Weapon Permit, then by all means take advantage of my greatest Course, Gun, and Gear Offer that will put a Springfield Armory XD Pistol in your hands with 5 DAYS of our world class training, as well as permits that allow you to carry a concealed handgun in over 30 states!

I will be posting a different article on this blog each Monday so I look forward to your visit every week.
