Front Sight Mail Bag: Response from Self-Proclaimed Leftist
June 13th, 2009
Ignatius,
The realities that you pointed out were my sentiments, exactly. I thought that Mr. Fawzi was very, very lucky. That would have been a situation with or without a CCW permit that would have been just too damn risky and not worth trying to save the bank’s money by having this guy call my bluff. I like the element of surprise and damn the coward bit when life is on the line. I am very glad that no one was hurt and this includes the perp.
On a previous newsletter you described a guy as a “living legend”. I also had some thoughts about his prediciment and by taking the liberty of using “the arm chair quaterback” analysis I would have made a different decision. Not about self-defense but certainly how I would live my lifestyle after the second or third time. I am also glad that the Jeweler is now in a safer place because he sounded like a great guy that deserved better.
I hope my ego never gets in the way of my common sense. For me the best home remedy is the “one pound of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure”. Even though I am preparing myself more mentally, skillfully, and physically, finances, and according to my present health, I am relying more and more on the prevention and avoidance part where I can.
You have great newsletters and I am certain that your training is the same. You give even a leftist like me a lot to think about regarding self-defense.
Ricardo
