Front Sight Mail Bag: Luck and Gun Training
August 10th, 2011
Dr. Piazza,
Justin did an excellent job as the range master. He demanded safety first, but was able to have fun with us also. He is so aware of what is happening on the line and was able to stop potential problems early. We couldn’t be happier with him or the other line instructors. They cared about our experience more than themselves. It was all about our learning and keeping the environment safe.
A few years ago we experienced an attempted home invasion. We live in a small city that has been ranked as one of the highest income, most expensive neighborhoods in the US, and we never would have thought it could happen to us. We were very fortunate and the bad guys weren’t able to break through the door. It was time to even the odds against those who would kill my family just to get their daily need of drugs or money. We were like many who read the media, scared of guns. My brother told me about Front Sight.
Last week, my wife and I attended our 3rd Front Sight 4-day course and this time we brought our two “honor roll” teenage sons along. They had a fantastic experience learning how to deal with firearms safely. They took it very seriously and by the time we started shooting, they were both able to safely manage the guns and by the end of the course were able to graduate with significantly improved skills and knowledge. It was a great family experience and we will be back. Next trip we’ll bring our daughter to the kids camp. These courses are good for families and it isn’t all about shooting. We loved how the kids were taught how to inspect their environment and be aware of potentially dangerous situations.
Thanks,
Dan and LeeAnn
